India Eye IHRO to celebrate World Environment Day

India Eye International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) is going to celebrate ‘World Environment Day’ with a theme ‘Environmental Protection in a Progressive World’ on June 5th, 2017 in New Delhi for the second consecutive year with its envisioned objective of protecting the environment from the menace of pollution. On June 5th, leading environmentalists, thinkers, academicians, industrialists, journalists, religious leaders from across India will deliberate upon multiple environmental issues to find an inclusive approach on how we can protect our mother planet Earth and the Human race from the menace of pollution.

India Eye IHRO brings ANHAD for visually impaired citizens

India Eye IHRO is going to organise "ANHAD" an event for visually impaired citizens. Achievers from various fields will be honoured. A cultural programme will be presented by the visually challenged kids. This event will be held on February 25th, 2017 in New Delhi.

India Eye IHRO celebrated Smile at the rate 60 Plus with senior citizens

On the eve of New Year, December 31st, India Eye International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) organised “Smile@60plus” for all the senior citizens who were above the age of 60 years at Kamani auditorium, New Delhi. Considering the phenomenon, where elders are left at home on any good occasion, India Eye IHRO put an effort to bring smile, joy and happiness in the lives of senior citizens so that they could welcome the new year with a new hope. Over 1000 senior citizens from different fields of life attended the event on 31st evening and 19 of them were felicitated for their enormous contribution to the society along with 36 winners of Essay Writing, Painting & Selfie with senior citizen contest. India Eye IHRO’s Chairman Mr. Rakesh Garg and Managing Director Mr. Rakesh Sharma along with the Chief Guest Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh, former Governor of Tamil Nadu & Assam inaugurated the event after lighting up the lamp. Dr. Singh was honoured with a shawl, a memento, a plaque and a bouquet. The entire crowd welcomed the speech delivered by Mr. Rakesh Sharma when he quoted, “One should enjoy getting old. Age is a phenomenon and it should be accepted with time.” Audiences inside the Kamani auditorium were completely captivated and amused when renowned Art of Living singer Mr. Manish Sharma along with his team began theBhajan Sandhya programme. Most of the senior citizens were seen singing and dancing on its tunes and music. The entire team was felicitated by Mr. Mahesh Singla, Special Secretary, Internal Security, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The Chief Guest Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh honoured Justice K.G. Balakrishnan (Former Chief Justice of India & Chairman, NHRC); Shri T.S.R Subramanian, IAS (Former Cabinet Secretary, Govt. of India); Major General (Dr.) G. D. Bakshi (Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal) (Retd.); Dr. S. Y. Quraishi, IAS (Former Chief Election Commissioner, Govt. of India); Dr. Y Dole (renowned ophthalmologist from Pune); Shri Jagdip Singh (Chairman Sigma Corporation Pvt. Ltd.); Guru Jitendra Maharaj(Nritya Shiromani & renowned Kathak maestro); Drs. Raja & Radha Reddy (renowned Kuchipudi couple); Smt. Nasera Sharma (renowned Hindi writer); Smt. Shyama Kumari Asthana (renowned vocalist & musicologist); Smt. Madhu Chaturvedi (Veda Scholar & Poetess); Shri  Suresh Neerav (renowned Hindi Poet); Smt. Madhu Barua (Chairman, Bharatiya Sanskriti Sansthan); Dr. B. D. Malhotra (renowned scientist); Shri L.S. Malik (Former Sports Officer, Govt. of Haryana); Shri P.P. Srivastava‘Rind’ (renowned Shayar); Shri N.K. Verma (Chairman, Diamond Books Pvt Ltd.); Shri Harish Chandra Shukla ‘Kaak’ (renowned cartoonist) and Shri Pradeep Jain(renowned documentary filmmaker).   Moreover, senior citizens who were above the age of 90 were also honoured with a shawl and a bouquet. Reputed TV serial ‘Fauji’ maker Lt. Col. R. K. Kapoor with his different facial expressions mesmerised the crowd whereas renowned poets Mr. Suresh Neerav & Praveen Shukla’s poetries gripped the mood of the audience till end of the event. Earlier, a nation-wide Essay Writing, Painting & ‘Selfie with senior citizen’ contest were held in the month of November and December. The subject for Essay & Painting competition for teenagers & youths in English will be “Celebrating sunset years with sunshine life” & in Hindi “उनकी कहानी, हमारी जुबानी…….हमारे दादा-दादी......नाना - नानी” in separate age groups of 13-18 and 19-24 years respectively. For senior citizens, the topic for write-ups will be “Celebrating sunset years, connecting dots…of life” in English and "जीवन की सांझ - एक उत्सव"in Hindi. The reward for both age groups were- four first prizes of Rs. 5,000/- each, four second prizes of Rs. 3,000 each and four third prizes of Rs. 2,000 each. Twenty compensatory prizes were given, amounting Rs. 1,000 each. Same pattern were followed in the category of senior citizens. In the group for ‘Selfie with senior citizen’ contest, the first prize winner were awarded a cash prize of 5,000 rupees, the second prize winner got a sum of 3,000 rupees & the third winner received an amount of 2,000 rupees.  Consolation prize winners collected an amount of 1,000 rupees each. Large number of students from various corners of the country participated in the competitions. Special Secretary Shri Mahesh Singla along with Kathak duo Ms. Nalini Kamalini distributed cash prizes to the respective winners. India Eye IHRO’s portal on senior citizens ‘Think senior citizen’ was also launched during the event. The two and a half hour programme tried to focus on bringing a coherent structure for dissolving the ongoing degeneration of value system and how to inculcate the same in our day to day life so that we can provide a dignified life to our elderly. India Eye IHRO paid its sincere salutation to all our elderly for their immense and consistent contribution to the society. India Eye IHRO to organise 'Smile@60 plus' for senior citizens

On the eve of New Year at Kamani auditorium, New Delhi, we welcome all the senior citizens above the age of 60 years. They will be amused with different modes of entertainment for instance, Bhajan Sandhya; Shayari; Jokes; Antakshri etc. Senior citizens would also be given opportunities to share their memorable & joyful moments of their lives. Those who are above the age of 90 would be honoured. Three best couples will be also awarded.
